hict has the pleasure to partake in the roundtable panel on “EU structural and investment funds as a driver of innovation in healthcare - Would simplification help?” on 13 October. The event is organized under the umbrella of European Week of Regions and Cities 2016 (EWRC) and brings together 30 participants, including EU policy makers, representatives from the regions and representatives from the private sector.
This event, with the confirmed moderator MEP Jan Olbrycht, aims to share factual experiences on current opportunities and challenges in using European Structural and Investment Funds and on potential benefits of public-private partnerships for the healthcare sector. The event will also look at two case studies – successful innovative projects in Poland and Romania financed by the EU funds.
This panel will provide important input for the SIGMED (www.sigmed.org) congress in Cluj, Romania, that is organized by THE-INSTITUTE vzw, where hict has a membership, and CREST RESOURCES, a Romanian based NGO in Healthcare. SIGMED was founded as a collaboration between THE Institute and CREST, together with the several university hospitals in Romania and Belgium and other healthcare stakeholders. Its first initiative is this congress where they will focus on quality of care, patient safety and risk management in healthcare between Romania, Belgium, Austria and Hungary.
Confirmed speakers for this event include governmental representatives (Mayor of Cluj Napoca, National Authority for Quality Management in healthcare, etc.), academic representatives (Rector of University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca, etc.), representatives of healthcare professions (College of Physicians, Order of Nurses, Midwives and Medical Assistants, etc.) and medical, clinical, management and technological experts from different counties and healthcare institutions.
