At Hict, we firmly believe today’s challenges and tomorrow’s trends demand continuous improvement and investments to ensure access, quality and affordability of care and cure. To do so, we stand shoulder to shoulder with healthcare stakeholders to help make the right choices, deliver better results, increase value for money, provide access to innovation, shape the public debate and inform healthcare policy.

To support our growth, we are looking to strengthen our core team of consultants with a senior consultant with proven experience in clinical strategy & process improvement in hospitals.

Your responsibilities

As a senior consultant, you are the link between Hict's project team and the customer. You have broad project responsibilities: making client proposals, developing study designs, executing and managing these studies/projects.

You translate the customer's demand to an adequate solution in close collaboration with the customer and other members of the project team. You coach team members, transferring your knowledge and expertise to them. You inspire your colleagues to outperform our customer's expectations.

You have a Master’s degree and you have an affinity with the healthcare sector. Additional certifications or degrees in healthcare-related areas or other relevant postgraduate studies (e.g. health economics, Master of Science in healthcare management & policy, management of public organisations, etc.) are a plus.

You have/are...

  • Professional experience in a healthcare-related sector
  • Clinical and/or hospital strategy experience combined with experience in an advisory or management role (hospital or consulting).
  • Capable of defining/assigning tasks within your project and developing/managing a good planning (project management).
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in projects related to process optimisation, preferably in hospitals or healthcare-related organisations.
  • A good insight in the Belgian healthcare system.
  • A good set of strategic and economic insights.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Dutch and/or French, good knowledge of English. Other language skills are a bonus.
  • Specific skills such as lean management, value-based healthcare, change management, process mapping, clinical pathway optimisation and workshop moderation are of particular interest.

We are looking for...

  • A consultant at heart – you work directly with end-customers, typically as part of a flexible team of expert consultants.
  • A logical and analytical mind, with a well-structured and proactive work ethic.
  • An entrepreneurial and result-driven consultant.
  • A team player capable of using their knowledge in a fluent and constructive way and sharing it with colleagues, the project team or the client.
  • A stress-resilient team lead, productive in rapid-changing settings, managing multiple projects at the same time and capable of delivering consistent results under pressure.
  • Someone eager to learn and able to keep their knowledge up-to-date.
  • Flexibility: head office in Ghent, national and (short) international project activities.

What we offer

  • A challenging project-driven working environment in a dynamic team of highly skilled professionals – with vast expertise in hospital strategy, value and process improvement.
  • A fixed contract, with a competitive salary and benefits package, including a company car.
  • A flexible and open work environment, including a homework policy.
  • A comprehensive training package, including on-the-job and dedicated trainings.
