Hict is excited to announce our Summer Internship Program will be continued in 2024, featuring project-based positions designed to accelerate your learning and career growth.

We're looking for proactive, innovative, and skilled candidates eager to dive into healthcare consultancy. If, like us, you're passionate about optimising healthcare, this is the perfect opportunity to hone your skills and make a difference.

Your time at Hict

During your time at Hict, you'll be expected to collaborate effectively, take initiative, and contribute to our ongoing projects. In return, you'll gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and valuable job market insights to help you navigate your career path as a young graduate.

In addition to your specific internship project, you may be involved in other ongoing projects or internal processes, offering a glimpse into various consultant roles.

Criteria

In general, our internships are organised during the summer. If you would like to do an internship during another period, do not hesitate to reach out.

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

Be a Master’s student (ongoing or recent graduate).
Have a strong interest in healthcare systems.
Specific interests or relevant skills will be mentioned in the individual topic descriptions (see last year's programme). Extensive background is not required, we provide the necessary introduction and training.

Please note that this is an unpaid internship at our office in Gent. Applicants should be able to commute to our location for the duration of the internship. Compensations for accommodations cannot be foreseen.

Internship topics

Here is our shortlist of possible topics for our internship program:

Market access:
- What is the patient perspective on optimal patient involvement in national market access procedures?
- Health-economic analyses in the context of a Belgian submission for reimbursement.
- How different do the market access procedures look like (for different types of projects, or for one type of product across different countries)?
- Develop/revise the physician surveys in the context of a Belgian submission for reimbursement: how can we optimize the information we collect from physicians (expert opinion)?
Digital tools:
- How to map use/occupancy of rooms in an outpatient clinic? Develop a proof-of-concept based on fictitious data.
- Develop a digital tool for communication on presence and absence of physicians and nurses in an outpatient clinic.
- Which data can help hospitals in their strategic long-term planning of their care? Discover it by working on various parts of our Capacity and Staffing Prediction tool, CaSPr.
Hospital strategy and organisation:
- Benchmark of designed/built surfaces in Belgian hospitals.
