Hict was asked to quantify the added value of Abbott Architect Intstrumentation, as the continuing push for qualitative, cost-efficient solutions drives hospital and blood bank labs towards automated systems in an attempt to do more with fewer resources and less overhead while at the same time improving overall quality.
Customer: Abbott
Main Goal: Quantification of the added value of switching to the Abbott Accelerator Laboratory Automation system
Main Result: Validation of the potential cost and efficiency gains when implementing the Abbott Accelerator Laboratory Automation system
The present study attempts to quantify the addend value of switching to the Abbott Accelerator Laboratory Automation system with associated process automation and optimisation, by quantifying in monetary value potential cost and efficiency gains in a series of representative case studies.
This study was performed in a Kostanay Blood Bank Infectious Diseases Screening Lab and in the Clinical Biochemistry & Pharmacology (CBF) lab of the Odense University Hospital (OUH)
The results were presented to the participating sites and were described in 2 white papers.
