The module Care Indicators on our CaSPr-platform has a feature allowing the user to calculate the travel times to hospitals. They were already able to calculate the travel time by car. Now it's also possible how long it would take if you take public transport, the bike, or go by foot.
The accessibility of care institutions is now being portrayed in a more inclusive manner. Mapping the mobility of patients is essential to understanding and improving the accessibility to care:
Not every patient has a car or can come by bike or by foot. By adding public transport in your analyses, you create a more faire and realistic picture of the accessibility of care. This insight can help with strategic decisions, for example the location of different campuses, collaboration between hospitals, or improving the traffic flows.
This CaSPr update is another step forward in offering valuable insights for accessible and patient-centred care.
If we look at the travel time with public transport to a hypothetical care institution AZ Hict at The Loop in Ghent, we see that we can reach this location from the indicated areas within 60 minutes.
The update will become available to our customers with a CaSPr license in the coming months.
