OUR APPROACH

Three key elements were used to tackle this project:

  1. CaSPr
  2. Operation room optimalisation model
  3. Strategic contribution of the hospital

The contribution of the hospital was essential to gather all the necessary contributions regarding strategic issues.

CaSPr analyses the future activity of the hospital for conventional and day hospitalisation and the operating theater optimisation model translates this future activity into an optimised flow.

Results

  • Detailed forecast care demand on individual hospital level and translation to operation theatres
  • Optimisation of current operation theatre
  • Specific recommendations with respect to size and amount of operation theatres
